Spaced out

It is summer, it is hot, everybody is tired and all indications are that it is time to slow down, chill out. I have read various articles recently about the need to control information in an increasingly mobile world: we may never return to closing our office door and leaving work behind again but it does not mean that we should not create “switched-off” time when we make sure we are unconnected. Very important for our classrooms also: apart from decreasing the motivational value through overuse, there are still many, many activities which are best done without technology in the classroom. All of this on the back of the last space shuttle flight: when technology runs out of steam. I remember the first flight, I remember the initial enthusiasm over IWBs … will I be around to see their last flight?

Well not this summer as, taking my own advice, this is my last post until September!.
