Catching up on my favourite language blogs after the summer. Linked on the right of this page you will find a recent fascinating post by Jeremy Harmer of when, how, why and if you should walk out of a conference talk. Scott thornbury has a fascinating article on Phrasal Verbs, when a verb may or may not be feeling a little phrasal and what indeed does a verb need to be in that state. Nicky Hockly has another fascinating post on the use of technology, or how not to have a conference :-))

Finally, I return to my love, The Economist. Johnson blogs regularly on language and language in the media at http://www.economist.com/blogs/johnson One post I particularly liked recently deals with attempts to introduce  gender-neutral pronouns in English.  One of the comments on the blog suggests combining He, She and It into a single pronoun SHEIT.
